Home Business Expo Vendor Information
The IHBO hosts two Home Business Expos (formerly Craft and
Information Fairs) aboard MCAS Iwakuni annually, usually in March/April and
October/November. We are proud to say that the Home Business Expo has grown and
since the Spring 2015 Expo our venue: The Club Iwakuni Ballroom, which
can accommodate up to 50 vendors (before we were limited to 25).
Who
Can Be a Vendor?
Vendors may include anyone attached to MCAS Iwakuni with
permission (registered with the Station Judge Advocate’s office and possessing
an approval letter) to sell their products and services on base. These are home
business owners and crafters with a current and valid approval letter from the
base's Station Judge Advocate's office. Approval is free. You can read more
about it here.
Per base regulations, no food can be sold at the event. There cannot be any open flames and there are a limited number of vendor table spaces with access to electricity. Additionally, all products and services must be in accordance with base regulations (for example, no body piercing.)
Table
Fee and Amenities
Vendors will have a 6-foot long table with a tablecloth, and a chair. The fee is $30 per table, and all proceeds will go
toward renting the venue, as well as advertising the event in the community.
Vendors must fill out an application, located on our Facebook group page, in the Files section. There
are 50 vendor table spaces available and they will be given to vendors on a
first-paid, first-served basis, starting at the informational meeting, usually
held two months prior to the event (see calendar above).
Vendor
Requirements
Vendors with only one SJA-registered business may only have
one table. Vendors with two or more registered businesses may have up to two
tables, with a maximum of two tables per individual. Two vendors are welcome to
share a table, but each vendor will pay the $30 table fee (the fee cannot be
split by vendors because the fee also covers advertising expenses, which all
vendors benefit from.) Vendors should not bring their children to the Expo to
sit with them; nursing babies in arms only. If table spaces remain after the meeting,
potential vendors may request an application by sending an email to ihbomembership
(at) gmail (dot) com. After the application deadline (usually two weeks before the expo), vendors can no longer cancel and receive a refund of their table fee. They may find a qualified vendor to take over their table space, but must notify expo organizers of the change.
Table
Locations
Vendors will not get to select their table location; the Expo
planners will assign tables once all vendors are registered, keeping
competitors and electricity requests in mind. Requests can be made on the Expo application form. The entire ballroom is well lit
and the layout of the room allows for attendees to navigate the entire room of
vendors easily.
Multiple Representatives
for the Same Company
Only
one representative from each company (such as Mary Kay, Tupperware, Thirty-one,
etc.) can initially register for the Expo. If there are tables remaining after
the initial registration meeting, then up to three representatives from the
same company may participate. If there are more than three representative from the same company at the Expo meeting, representatives will be selected at the
registration meeting through a lottery process managed by the Expo planners.
Additional details are up to the Expo planners’ discretion.

Additional details will be given to vendors at the meetings
listed in the above calendar. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, the
